Masticated* Love

 

“Masticated” is awkward,

I’ll cede you that.

(Substitute “Cannibal”  if you will     

but query closely what's supped at table.)

Does "vivisected love barely licked by flame"

       better tell the tale?

    A saga of oven-roasted, seared,

    broiled, braised and toasted love?

Boiled, scalded, steamed

simmered ‘til al dente love?

        Or,  fried? (Now there's a lonesome love.)      

Communion love, perhaps?

Blood of His heart,

Bread of His corpse?

The God in all things is

pore-absorbent,

say the God Eaters of Tibet.
